Winter Arts Festival

So a few weeks ago we had the winter arts festival. I performed in the dance to "i see fire", and the salsa routine. Rehearsal for the dance i see fire was really stressful because it was the first time we has rehearsed with both grades that were dancing. The stage was very crowded which made it hard for us the dance full out. Also in the salsa routine we never gave the sound person a signal so they started playing the music when we weren't ready. This lead to a little confusion but it all worked out and we got back on time. And me and April did the trio right!!!!!!!!!

Tap unit

Our next unit is going to be tap. I'm really excited because i've never done this before! I think it was last year, we had a guest performance at the school and a tap dancer did a really awesome routine, and after that i thought tap was the coolest thing ever. Also I know that tap is in lot of musical theater, which i think is also really cool (such as Annie; our school musical this year).  I know tap has alot to do with rhythm and music which i think will be a new challenge!

Dancewave!

This saturday i am performing in the dancewave show! I am performing with my contemporary jazz dance group there, as well as salsa with the school dance program. For my jazz class we are doing a really cool dance, it's sort of a mixture of modern and jazz together. And the music is this really relaxing instrumental thingy. I'm really excited but also really nervous because we haven't had much time to rehearse.

So yesterday in dance class, we had our 4th salsa of the year. We focused mostly on partner work and technique. We went over the single turn (with partner), and the double turn (with partner). Ms. Vissa came in later in the class and joined us in the partner work, since 2 of the followers were not present. So there was no an even number of leaders to followers.
